Lincoln Vein Clinic is run by Mr Paul Dunning MB ChB, MMedSci, FRCS(Gen)
Paul is a Consultant Vascular Surgeon who has a special interest in the management of venous conditions. He qualified MB ChB from the University of Birmingham in 1986. His basic surgical training took place in hospitals around the West Midlands and he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1991. His higher surgical training, in general surgery specialising in vascular surgery, took place in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and he obtained his specialty Fellowship in 1998.
Paul was appointed Consultant Vascular Surgeon to the then Lincoln and Louth NHS Trust in 1999. He helped develop the 'Lower Limb Pathway of Care' for patients suffering from leg ulcers. He has also pioneered the introduction of minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins in Lincolnshire.
Paul also has an interest in Medical Education and obtained his MMedSci in Clinical Education from the University of Nottingham in 2009. He was awarded the FRCS from the English college 'ad eundum' in 2008 for his work as Surgical Tutor at Lincoln County Hospital.
